Château by adler: Handcrafted chateau floorboards
Exclusive floorboards for a luxurious living
We at ADLER PARKETT produce plank flooring for you in Dirlewang / Germany (Bavaria), using the highest levels of technical and craft skills, which will not only be the largest but also the most beautiful piece of furniture in your home.
The parquet plank ‘Château by adler’ stands for extra long and wide planks. Lengths of 5 metres and more and widths of 35 cm and beyond are no problem. Oiled oak planks are the classic form of chateau planks. They are available in many different colour shades: everything is possible from the natural, warm tone of the oak through various white, grey, brown and red tones and even a darker smoked oak. We process selected oak surfaces manually using the scrub plane to produce a particularly customised appearance and feel – for unique chateau planks with their own character.
Oiled walnut planks, cherry planks or ash planks are also available from us in these unusually long and wide dimensions, as well as chateau planks in Douglas fir and larch. We have handpicked all the woods that are used and all the woods stem from exemplary forestry.

Floorboard widths and lengths are available with various options: in widths of 180 to 350 millimetres and, on request, also in fixed widths, i.e. a single width. Floorboard lengths measure from 1.8 to 5.0 metres. We can also produce lengths up to 10.8 metres for you, to suit the length of your room.
You will normally receive “Château by adler” Oak floorboards graded “Standard”. We can also on request offer you a selection with fewer knots. Please contact us in this respect.
The timber for the long and wide Deluxe floorboards may exhibit slight cracks as a result of shrinkage and wind stress. The large dimensions and natural shrinkage may also encourage minor surface cracks due to stress and drying.
Most surfaces have a machine brush-finished wood texture which we will refine using the NATURA+ oxidative surface treatment. Some floorboards will moreover be finished with a scrub plane by hand. These scrubbed surfaces have a particularly individual character.
Wood is a natural product. Colour deviations should therefore be expected, especially on stained surfaces. Colour pigments may produce varying hues, depending on the substances contained in the wood and the grain of the specific wood. These colour variations may occur between different batches but also in a single batch.
Smoking of the Oak, be it only lightly or to the core, may also produce light to dark colour variations as a result of natural Oak tannins. These individual colours are distinctive and certify the authenticity of the natural timber product wood.
The Deluxe floorboard comprises 3 layers with 19 millimetres overall thickness. The large widths and lengths will require full spread gluing.
The thermal resistance of the multi-layered Deluxe floorboards is ca. 0.16 m²k / W (as per EN14342), thus rendering it suitable for laying on hot water underfloor heating.
Maximum surface temperatures of 23°C - 26°C should not be exceeded. Please refer to our laying instructions under Downloads and information provided under “All about Parquets” for comprehensive guidelines on laying on underfloor heating.
Your high grade and customised Oak floorboards will demand special care if you wish to enjoy your floor for years to come. [link to All about Parquets / Proper care with NATURA+]
Always ensure that your ambient room conditions remain healthy to ensure both your own health and that of your parquet floor. Relative humidity of ca. 50 – 60% and room temperatures between 19 and 22°C would be ideal. Your wooden floor may be damaged unless these guideline values are maintained. The danger of drying out exists especially during heating periods, potentially causing shrinkage cracks in the worst case. Normally such cracks will, however, largely close up again as the room climate improves. The glued layers may also experience shrinkage stress in the event of sudden moisture change.
As an option, we can also offer you our Oak Deluxe floorboards as a 100% PEFC certified parquet. Depending on the wood sources we also might be able to offer a FSC® certified product. Please contact us in this respect.
